Our next spot on the map was Ravenshoe, with rolling green
hills rainforest and waterfalls. We camped at the train yard (yep $10 for the
night again) and we watched the steam train puff away from a front row spot - in
the van. As far as the sport of
trainspotting goes – this was kind of special.

We took a beautiful scenic drive to some of the waterfalls –
Little Millstream and Millaa Millaa - and enjoyed the green countryside. We were
all in agreement that Millaa Millaa was a place we could live. Nick, Larina and Sam have all selected hills
they will build their houses on. (Nick
has decided to put an escalator on his hill to save himself having to walk up
and down it.) Clearly we were captivated
by the lush greenery – after months in the dry dust. We even stopped in at the real estate agency –
and the prices here are pretty tempting!
Perhaps it was just as well it was Sunday and no one was there to
convince us further.

Was the train driver camper spotting while you were train spotting? Does look a nice place, but I'd try it in the summer before you exchange contracts.
ReplyDeleteps. Don't forget to update your map.
