Douglas Hot Springs via Katherine

We left Gregory NP for the long drive to Douglas Hot Springs. A massive 460km trip (for us) the trip was broken up with a stop off at Katherine for a fuel/information/bread stop. The information centre was very frustrating (over an hour in a line) as there were only 2 people working and loads of grey nomads asking 1000 questions and not looking at the line behind them. Thank goodness it was air-conditioned. We were given the information we needed about permits to enter Aboriginal land, and headed off to fuel up. Then after making a few phone calls (Yes Optus covers Katherine) we pushed onto our camp for the next 2 nights at Douglas hot springs.  And boy were the hot springs welcome at the end of a long day. We found a nice spot for us and the kids and just kicked back and relaxed with the hot water for Mandy and the warm/cool water for me and the kids. How nice is this place.  Day 2 was school work and some more exploring in the beautiful Douglas springs. It was amazing to see the hot water bubbling up from a crack in the rocks at almost boiling point.  A relaxing day as we anticipate seeing the family tomorrow in Darwin!!!
