“It’s got a swimming pool, and a water slide!” Wooohoooo! Unable to get into any of the cheaper caravan
parks in the region, we ended up managing to score the last site at Big 4. Luxury upon us, the kids took advantage of
the playground, jumping pillow, water slide and green grass. Ben and I spent the day wiping red dust off
everything and washing all that could be washed. Thanks God for one sunny day so we didn’t
have to pay for clothes dryers! The
drives around here are stunning – so lush, sugar cane growing alongside the
road, clouds on the tops of the mountains.
We cleaned all day, the Captain has never looked better as well as the
Eagle. I think we stopped to rest at about 9pm shower and a good night sleep.
Saturday was set aside to explore Port Douglas – and it was a fun day. We had a
stroll along the main street, enjoyed lunch in the park, surveyed the lookout
and wandered around the markets at the Marina. We managed to pick up a few
little things along the way (poor bank balance) including some B&D prawns
(broken and damaged) from the local trawler. Tomorrow we are off to explore the
Daintree up to Cape Tribulation – Cannot wait….
Don't post too many shots of the tele track, remember a potential buyer is reading this blog. Hi Luke!
