Mataranka/ Elsey National Park

After an afternoon dip in the warm thermal pool at Mataranka, (concrete lined and complete with steps and handrails….) we drove through to stay a night in Elsey National Park.   The dust pit we camped in was all worth the dinner cooked on our fire.  Ben and Larina went about making a terrific little fire, in which we cooked some of the yummiest flat bread ever.  Actually, it turned out so well we melted cheese on it, added salsa and salami, and presto – outback pizza!  Justin – you would have loved it – rustic style!  (We will try to replicate at the reef later this year.)  You can see from my excitement over this simple meal that our variation in menu has not been creative enough – meal planning is one thing we have not spent our time on.  Happy were our taste buds as we went to sleep listening to the donkeys nee nawing in the background.
